An internship with Student Media Group is like going through intense sales boot camp training. We build students to become the best they can be, giving them the opportunity to stand out among their peers. The SMG internship program produces ambitious leaders who possess determination, a strong work ethic, and a great H.E.A.R.T
Nothing good comes easy, and this program is no different; your son/daughter will face challenges every day, but we PROMISE they will come out of this internship better, stronger and more confident than they were when they came in. Your son/daughter's job will be to meet face-to-face with local business owners to develop effective advertising campaigns in the Plan-It daily planners. Most summer internship programs are unpaid, and consist of making copies, running errands and grabbing coffee. Our interns are the face of our company. SMG interns spend the summer working hard and sharpening the skills they need to excel in any future career- AND they actually get PAID for their work!
The SMG internship program is not easy, but is rewarding in so many ways. Your son/daughter's job will be to meet face-to-face with local business owners to develop effective advertising campaigns in the Plan-It daily planners. In addition to the ongoing support from our highly experienced regional sales managers, your son/daughter will attend a rigorous 3-day sales training conference in May. At the conference, your student will receive specialized training and have the opportunity to share "real world" sales experiences with other students who have worked in the field. We find that after the sales training conference students are energized and excited to have learned new skills outside of the college/university environment.
If your son/daughter is self-motivated with a great work ethic, loves being challenged, and has a winning attitude, they are an ideal SMG internship candidate.
